Change to ending of our Opening sequence

When filming the last bit it got dark to quickly, because of this we had to change our ending. Instead of seeing the main character being pushed into the electricity box, we now just see him running it fades into black, signifying him being passed out, we found that this was good as it also gives enigma. The next shot is him then waking up seeing the electric current in his eye just as before.

After Effects

We have finished the editing and putting the credits on our opening sequence. we are know working on   After Effects to try and make the electric spark emerge from Andy's eyes when he wakes up near the end of our opening sequence.

Title logo

This is the logo i created for our film production company. It was made using a mixture of Photoshop, PowerPoint and illustrator. The logo really does resemble the name of our film industry which is baseline productions.

Last Day Of Filming

Thursday 13th march was our last filming day. We planned to get a lot of what was missing from our opening filmed, such as the chase up to the scene where our main character gets hit by the electric blast. We also planned to re-film some scenes such as the scene where our main character meets the bullies and some of the chase scenes. On this day we did manage to get a lot filmed, but it wasn't very successful because when we were filming, it began to get dark very quickly meaning that in some of our scenes there is a huge variation as it goes from light to dark very quickly.

To make up for this disappointing filming day, we have all worked together to try and get our group blog to a high quality standard.

Group Planning

This is our group discussion on what we can do to improve our blog work. As you can see we have a lot of ideas and ways to improve it, we also know we need to work on a title for our actual movie opening.

Editing

In this editing session we made the cutting much tighter, the handheld camera shot that we thought didnt work and needed re-filming once cut down a few frames looked fine, this has taught us that editing is a very technical process, a few frames either way can either make or break your film. We plan to keep this in mind in our next editing session.

Day Planned For Our Last Shoot Day

We have a new shoot day planned for Sunday 9th, this will be our last shoot day for our pickups.In this upcoming shoot we plan to get a lot done, we will be re filming and improving some of our bully chase scenes and including some scenes to improve the length of our opening. After we finish this shooting day, we will be editing and working to include the credits of our opening.

Shoot Day 4 - 23rd Feb

On the sunday 23rd february we had our 2nd filming shoot. It was a very productive day, we managed to improve some of our shots and film all the pickups that we needed to improve our opening sequence.  The only downfall of this shoot was that one of our actors was not able to make it, so that meant that we were only able to film half of the pickups we needed and we are missing the other half. This means that we will have to plan one more shoot day that we have yet to discuss as a group.

UPDATE: New filming Date

We did not manage to film this weekend as we forgot to take out camera and tripods from the media department because of this we have decided to film during the half term and make up the time missed in our free time. To catch up on things we have missed and are behind on.

Changes Made To Opening Sequence

We realised that our opening sequence may be a bit to short and we also didn't set the scene with an establishing shot. We decided to film the house from outside for a few seconds to start the film with that as an establishing shot. We then decided that we would have an extra bit at the beginning of the character Andy picking up his keys and also receiving a text from his friend telling him to meet him later. We are hoping that this will make the opening sequence longer.

Editing Progress 01

Here is an image and a video of what we have been editing so far, from this we found that we have to do a lot of pickups and we have therefore planned another shoot for sometime during Half term.Some of the issues we have come across is that some of actors facial reactions are different in each scene, and that our opening so far isn't long enough, so we are now working on a way to make our opening longer.

UPDATE: Shooting Date Change

We planned to start our second shoot day for the 2nd February, but we have decided to change this to a later date. The reason for this is when we went to the media office nobody was there to give us a camera. This is only a minor setback and it has given us more time to prepare.

Shoot day 2 -10th january 2014

We started shooting at 2:00pm in the afternoon at our location, we made sure that the actors met us there and we had the script and storyboard with us. This shoot was successful, in a sense that we got most of the filming done, we have planned another shoot for Sunday the 2nd February, planning the date for the second shoot was very difficult as our actors were very busy.

New Location

We changed our location as we thought that this location was easier for all the actors as well as our media group to go to. We chose this location because its a typical area for people in england to live in. We found that it suited where out main character would live, being middle-class.

UPDATE: Re-Casting

Due to one of our lead actors being unable to find the time to be able to act in our opening sequence, as a group we have decided its best to replace our lead actor with one of the actors we had as our bullies Andy Chabuka. We've decided to use Mr. Armstrong as the voice over instead.
Shalom and Mitch our original actors will still be playing as the bullies of the opening sequence. Now that we have Andy playing our lead, it now means that the location of our opening scene has changed and it will now be filmed at Andy's house in Raynes Park.
